Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (113g)
- 2 large eggs, room temp
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (105g)
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed (118g)
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (270g)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (130g)
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips (125g)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda (6g)
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, add bananas and mash until smooth leaving a few chunks.
- Add melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs and mix until smooth.
- Add sour cream, vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Fold dry ingredients into wet just until combined (do not overmix).
- Gently fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Optional: sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Lightly tent with foil partway through to prevent over-browning.
- Cool in pan 15 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
